Etsy Shop Deer Mountain Wood Art Video Review

by CraftyCoach - Norm Lanier on November 25, 2008

I was asked by Freida Kirkland from Deer Mountain Wood Art to review her site and see if I could figure out why her wood earrings were not selling but her competitor’s were. I spent 20 minutes going through her site and offering suggestions that might help her and you with your shop. Enjoy

This was a really great tutorial. I got so much out of it! Off to check out my shops to see what I can do to mine. Thanks!

That was interesting - lots of useful tips!

However, I disagree with you on the coin-in-pictures thing. I think it’s tacky and undercuts a classy product. I couldn’t help staring at the coin, rather than the earrings! Better to just give the diameter of the earrings, and/or show them on a model.

Norm, if you have time could you critique my own little jewelry shop? http://mmadden.etsy.com

Thank you so much Norm! I’ve gotten a look at everything I’m doing from a whole new light - I hope that it will inspire others as much as it has myself! I’m very excited to implement your advice and see how it goes =0)
Thanks again!

Thank you for posting this where others could view & benefit, as well. I’m pretty new to etsy, and I have learned a lot from critiques of others shops. Will definitely use some of your suggestions to improve.

Please post a transcript somewhere of your video if possible….for all of us at work where they ban streaming videos :)

Thanks for sharing! Very informative. Now I know how terrible my descriptions are. LOL! I pretty much state the facts…very little or no emotion to it. Will definitely have to work on that.

Great critique, a lot of very valid points - I think I’ll go have another look at my shop sections! :)
